Zynga Awards Four Scholarships to MDM Class of 2010
The Masters of Digital Media (MDM) Program together with Zynga, the industry leader in social gaming, has announced the winners of the inaugural Zynga scholarships for the MDM Program at the Centre for Digital Media in Vancouver, B.C. Four students - Su Yon Sohn, Jason Chang, Ryan Nadel and Matthew Schroeter - have earned scholarships totaling $21,000.

The BIG PUSH: MDM Social Change Project - $50,000 Opportunity to Make a Difference
The Masters of Digital Media (MDM) Program invited artists, inventors, educators, health care professionals, non-profit organizations or academic/research institutions to submit a proposal for a digital media-based project (deadline November 13) that promotes a philanthropic cause or positive social initiative. Projects may include a contribution to sustainability, the environment and education within local, provincial, national and/or global communities.

Dr. Gerri Sinclair Wins BCIC's Entrepreneurship Fellow Award
Congratulations are in order for MDM Executive Director and Centre for Digital Media CEO, Dr. Gerri Sinclair. She was awarded the Entrepreneurship Fellow Award by the British Columbia Innovation Council (BCIC) on Monday, October 26 at Connect '09, the premier event for technology start-ups and innovators.

Health Advice From Your Digital Self
CIHR-funded researchers, Linda Li at the University of British Columbia and Paul Adam at the Mary Pack Arthritis Progam, are working with consumer collaborators and students of the Masters of Digital Media program at the Centre for Digital Media to develop an animated, web-based program that will help arthritis patients find accurate, relevant treatment.

MASTERS OF DIGITAL MEDIA PROGRAM

The MDM Program is a 20-month professional graduate degree jointly awarded by the four major public post-secondary institutions in Vancouver, Canada - the University of British Columbia; Simon Fraser University; Emily Carr University of Art + Design and the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
This innovative program provides our students with practical team-based experience through industry-relevant curriculum and real-world industry-funded projects.
Students work together to develop essential team-building, communications, and project management skills, preparing them for careers as creators, practitioners and senior managers in the rapidly-growing video game and digital media industry.
