Industry Projects at the Centre New student-industry projects now underway

Masters of Digital Media Program students are currently working on a total of ten industry-funded projects ranging from video games and interactive applications, to social media and next-generation brand development.

In the case of one project, former Canadian Senator Pat Carney, her brother CBC Veteran Jim Carney and historian Robin Inglis are working with the students to create a rich, interactive platform showcasing the fascinating history of the Gulf Islands (Read the Full Story).

All projects offered by the MDM Program are based on a four-month development cycle, and end with a final product that must be delivered on time and on budget.

New MDM Electives

MDM Electives: From AI, interactive narrative, production tools and digital fine art practices

In addition to the industry-funded projects, students are taking electives. Students were given the opportunity to enroll in an elective course offered at one of MDM’s partner institutions (UBC, SFU, ECUAD and BCIT). Alternately, students have the option to choose from four diverse classes offered at the Centre. FULL STORY


Tomorrow's Masters of Digital Media V2.0 Second Year for TMDM Bootcamp for Teens

After a highly successful pilot program launched last summer, we are thrilled to be offering TMDM v2.0. The Tomorrow’s Masters of Digital Media is a three week intensive summer boot camp experience designed to expose talented youth to both educational and career opportunities in the vibrant Digital Media field. This year, students entering grades 9-12 are welcome to apply for 60 positions in the program. The cost is $400 per week and thanks to generous sponsorship from Electronic Arts, there are limited scholarships available.

Virtual ICE Workshop

Virtual Interactive Collaborative Environments (Virtual ICE)

Virtual environments (VEs) are exciting computer-simulated landscapes that can offer participants (through their online avatars) powerful workspaces for creative, effective, and remote collaboration. We will explore this collaborative potential in a workshop comprising four virtual sessions at the Virtual Centre For Digital Media. Through this course, participants will develop techniques of remote collaboration as they apply to real world education, business and more.

Evergreen Opens New Community Garden at GNWC Evergreen opens new community garden at GNWC

Evergreen, a not-for-profit organization promoting urban sustainability, is launching a community garden initiative at GNWC. Open to everyone, the garden will be lead by Evergreen's experts in urban agriculture, who will be available to help local green thumbs with their plots.
